Trail Running Singapore

Sometime, something happened for a reason.  And sometime, we won't know why something happened to us (good or bad) until when it became crystal clear at a later stage.  :p  While I didn't think anyone likes getting injured, the injury I sustained in Ozark allowed me the time to recharge myself physically and mentally.  Finally, I had a time to chart out a personal project that I had been planning since Jul 2012.  And that project is the birth of Trail Running Singapore!

But first and foremost, I must give thanks to Sukaimi for giving me the confidence to start out this project and also helped out in the initial phase of the project.  Special thanks must also go to Ford Lim and his Ultra Running Singapore Facebook Page - if not for Ultra Running Singapore Facebook Page, I wouldn't dream about exploring the possibility of having a Trail Running Singapore Facebook Page to focus on trail running, to reach out to beginner runners or road runners who may be interested to explore the trails, and also to guide overseas runners who may wish to explore our trails while on a trip to Singapore.  In short, Trail Running Singapore is "an online trail running community to bring together trail runners based in Singapore, provide a platform to exchange info on training and local/overseas races and running routes, and to inspire more to step out to embrace nature."

I was not sure if I would succeed or not but nevertheless, I was very happy with the conduct of the Monthly Runs. It forced me to get out of my comfort zone of running laps around in MR on weekends and it allowed me to explore trails that I would not do normally it on my own.  Other positive points were the making of new running kakis, organising of an overseas trail running trip to Orang Asli, and numerous meeting up for makan sessions including a sending-off dinner for a runner going back to France after her work permit expired.  I hoped Trail Running Singapore would be around, co-existing with the other Singapore-based running Facebook pages to inspire runners take up more challenges.
